In March 2010 Yahoo! announced that they would phase out their self-serve ad platform (YPNO) for publishes and named Chitika; Yahoo!'s preferred referrer ad network for small-to-mid size publishers. Yahoo! Publishers are able to continue monetizing website traffic with Yahoo! Sponsored Search and Content Match ads through Chitika.

How do I get Paid?
Chitika offers two payment methods: PayPal and check payment. Our minimum payout for PayPal is $10, while the minimum payout by check is $50.

When are payments sent outt?
Just like the Yahoo! Publisher Network Online self-service program, your revenue accrues over the course of the calendar month. Payments for the previous month's revenue are issued no later than the last day of the following calendar month. For example, if you start using Chitika in March, we will pay you for your March activity at the end of April.

Can I run Chitika ads on the same page as Google AdSense?
Yes, you are allowed to run Chitika and Adsense on the same page.

What do Chitika ads look like?
Chitika ads look similar to YPNO ads, with a couple of enhancements:
- We insert images next to the ads - aside from just providing a clean look, we have found that adding images greatly improves the CTR on the ads. This can create more revenue for you.
- We may choose to show high quality graphic/banner ads sometimes, if we know that they can command a high eCPM for your site. Note: If you do not want this type of ad, you can easily choose not to show these in your Chitika account settings (click the "My Account" tab in your Chitika account).

How does the ad targeting work?
There are several layers of ad targeting technology involved to achieve the highest possible performance and revenue. This includes:
- Contextual Targeting - Just like YPNO, Chitika ads will sometimes look at the content on your page and show results related to that.
- Search Targeting - When your users arrive at your site from a search engine, we will show ads related to the keywords they searched for to find your site.
- User Targeting - When we know that an ad is of high value to a user, we may choose to show that ad instead of one that is related to your content.

Can I earn additional revenue by referring new publishers to Chitika?
Definitely! By referring new publishers to Chitika, we will pay you 10% of what they earn for the first 15 months that they use Chitika ads. You can get referral banners and links by clicking on the "Referral Programs" tab inside your Chitika account.

Where do I register my tax information?
We send out a notification for all publishers to update their tax information in late-November/early-December each year. You will be provided a link to enter you tax info at that time.
